Not all battles are fought in the same way. Everyone has their own way of fighting. Silvia Conde has declared war on plastic. A war that she fights through her art, one picture at a time by capturing the beauty of nature and generating environmental awareness. We've invited this photographer based in Berlin by way of Barcelona to visually reinterpret the essence of our watches in our latest MAM By.
There are many things we share with Silvia. The first, our deep love for nature. ¨My main inspiration is nature and its elements, especially water and earth. I enjoy getting lost in remote landscapes, finding textures and eternal forms that have been created by Mother Earth. I respect and admire her power because she is the origin of everything beautiful.”
The second thing we have in common is our commitment to sustainability. “MAM is a watch brand that wants to raise awareness. I applaud the brands that take this path. The use of natural and recycled materials is the best that a brand can offer to minimize the overall impact. A few years ago, few considered it. Nowadays it seems unthinkable to create a business without these attributes as essential values.”
And finally, a hopeful vision of the future. “Despite how things are, I think a better world is possible. It is not about seeking perfection, but trying to do what one can. If we all pull our weight, the impact would be immense. For that reason, I think the responsibility belongs to everyone. Our power as consumers is huge. If the consumer begins to ask for changes, the brands will have to adapt gradually. Luckily, there are brands like MAM that already share this vision from their roots.”
